Last year there was a presentation in The Willow Centre by Norfolk County Council of their ideas for parking restrictions in Cringleford. The pandemic brought a halt to many of the Council’s schemes and projects which delayed their overall programme somewhat. Consequently, the consultation phase of the Cringleford Parking Scheme was also delayed. Norfolk County Council says everything is just taking longer at present, but they have told us that they should be circulating consultation notices with details of the schemes in September to residents in those areas affected by each scheme.
Just by way of a reminder, included in the schemes that cover areas around Intwood Road and Colney Lane, are additional zones of double yellow lines, areas where parking is restricted between certain hours, and contactless payment parking bays. Parking (including in the current bays on the bridge over the A11) will be for a maximum of 4 hours with the first hour free. If you are in the areas affected and receive a consultation letter, please do respond so Norfolk County Council can gather your views.
This is the only scheme that will be proposed for the foreseeable future, so if it is not accepted by residents in the areas affected, the parking situation will remain as it is now.
