Have you recently moved to the area and fancy joining your local cricket club? Or perhaps you played at school and fancy turning your arm over again? Or perhaps the thunk of willow on leather is such a quintessential sound of an English summer that you fancy playing the game for the first time? If any of these chime with how you are thinking, Cringleford Cricket Club is here for you – and they’re very keen to recruit new players!

Cringleford Cricket Club currently fields one team, which plays on Saturdays in Division 2 east of the Norfolk Cricket League. This follows promotion in 2021, when they were Division 3 Central champions. Matches take place every weekend between late April (or early May) and end August. Their home ground (Recreation Ground, Oakfields Road, Cringleford NR4 6XF) boasts a recently refurbished pavilion, courtesy of Cringleford Parish Council.

The Club are proud of their friendly, sociable and inclusive culture. Players range from teenagers to sixty-somethings. Although this is ostensibly a men’s side, Cringleford would be delighted to become one of several Norfolk teams in the male league that fields women. They are keen to integrate players of any ability or experience – even introducing newcomers to the sport in recent years.

To express an interest in playing, please email the captain, Andy Boorman (boormo@gmail.com). You can find out more about the club through the website (https://cringleford.play-cricket.com/home), Facebook page or Instagram account (search for ‘Cringleford cricket’).
