During the summer Cringleford Parish Council sent a survey to each household in the parish, asking whether residents would like us to look into the possibility of a parking permit scheme for the parish. This was in response to receiving repeated complaints from parishioners regarding hazardous on-road parking throughout the area, but specifically on Colney Lane, Gurney Lane, Intwood Road and Oakfields Road. The result was that you would like us to look into the possibility in more detail.
Subsequently we have approached Norfolk County Council who have responded that in order for this to happen it may have to be funded entirely outside of the County Council’s budget i.e. by the parish council. We will be working with them on costings over the next few months to establish what is feasible.
In the meantime, when you do spot a problem, please contact both Highways (0344 800 8020 or information@norfolk.gov.uk) marked for the attention of Dave Stephens and Bob West and your County Councillor David Bills (david.bills.cllr@norfolk.gov.uk) ideally with photographic evidence, to emphasise to them the scale of the issue. Please also copy in the Parish Clerk (clerk@cringlefordpc.org.uk) so that we can continue to build a case for help with this problem.
If an actual road obstruction is being caused then please contact the Police on 101.
