Work will begin on Monday 6 June to carry out major carriageway resurfacing works on A11 Newmarket Road, Cringleford. The site will extend from a point south of the Colney Lane overbridge through to Thickthorn Roundabout including Roundhouse roundabout and a section of the southbound on-slip from the junction with Keswick Road. The work which will be carried out overnight 19.00 to 07.00 hrs will take 2 weeks to complete.
During the resurfacing works it will be necessary to close the road to all through traffic each night at 19.00 hrs and reopen by 07.00 hrs. A fully signed diversion via A47 Southern Bypass, A140 Ipswich Road / Daniels Road will be in place for the duration of the works. Local diversions for Roundhouse Way via A47 Southern Bypass and Watton Road will also be in place.
Access for residents on Newmarket Service Road will be maintained via Roundhouse Way at all times but it is inevitable that there will be some disruption. The County Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
The work which will cost £300,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community & Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
